Franklin Arts Centre provides a space for the local Pukekohe community to experience the visual arts. The centre hosts two gallery spaces for exhibitions; the New Zealand Steel Gallery which is the main exhibition space and shows the work of national, international and local artists. The second gallery is the Community Gallery which is a ‘fore hire’ space, showcasing mostly local artists, as well as a retail shop featuring local arts and crafts, and a workshop venue.

Exhibitions in the Steel gallery are typically scheduled for six weeks. A feature of the exhibition schedule is ongoing free (or affordable) programme events related to each exhibition.

Franklin Arts Centre is an Auckland Council arts facility, supported by the Franklin Local Board.
