Create an adornment out of shells, fibre and other natural materials, with the guidance of Pōhatu Roa artist Neke Moa. Bring in any treasures that you’ve foraged – shells, sticks, stones – and create a wearable artwork out of them. Some shells and fibre will be supplied. There are a limited number of spaces available for this workshop, so make sure you register here{.underline).

Neke Moa (Ngāti Kahungunu ki Ahuriri, Kai Tahu, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) is an adornment and object artist, predominantly working with Pounamu (NZ jade). In 2000 she gained a Diploma of Design and Art at Te Waananga-o-Raukawa and then furthered her studies at Whitireia NZ, completing a Bachelor of Applied Arts in 2007. Moa has exhibited widely throughout Aotearoa and internationally. Over the last 4 years Moa has taught shell craft in Fiji and Tonga and continues to teach and learn as part of her art practice.
